Being able to live and work on the Northern Beaches is a real privilege that I never take for granted. Having set up practice here almost 20 years ago, it is tremendously satisfying to get to know so many people within this wonderful community, and to be able to create beautiful smiles that people feel confident and proud to show off. I really enjoy getting to know my patients and their families and being able to help people of all ages.

Before setting up Beachside Orthodontics, I spent many years creating the largest, most successful practice on the Northern Beaches with my friend and colleague. I now look forward to bringing that expertise to my own practice. I have many years of experience using both traditional braces and Invisalign orthodontics. I aim to set the highest standard of patient care and service with the most up-to-date treatment available and personalised care at every stage. I am assisted in this by my experienced and well-trained staff, who are the backbone of my practice and help keep everyone smiling.

I graduated from Sydney University in 1992 with an Honours Degree in Dentistry. I started my career in Orange, NSW, before working as a flying Dentist in Arnhem Land, serving the Indigenous community. I then worked as a general dentist in Sydney in private practice. This wide variety of experiences gave me a strong background and wealth of experience in all areas of dentistry as well as good knowledge of the skills needed to run a successful practice. I then completed my Fellowship at the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons, and went onto my specialist training in orthodontics, graduating with a Masters of Science, and a specialisation in orthodontics. Recently I have become a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.

I am a firm believer in further education and regularly attend conferences to stay at the forefront of modern orthodontics. I have a passion for digital orthodontics, and use technology as much as I can to assist in treatment planning. I have been President of the NSW Australian Society of Orthodontics (2016-2018) and I have been on the board for almost 20 years. I mentor recently graduated orthodontic students, lecture at University of Sydney and also teach and give lectures at conferences and dental meetings. I am also very involved in the local community with my wife Janelle, who is a vet, and our two children, Henry and Anna. I am involved in several local charities, take my turn at the school run and have been known to coach boys’ soccer! In my free time I enjoy hiking, watching AFL (go Swannies!) and spending time outdoors.
