The cost of orthodontic treatment varies based on the type of treatment required and the complexity of the case. On average, treatment cost can range from $3,600 for interceptive treatment to $12,000 to correct alignment and improve the bite. Orthodontic treatment duration varies depending on the complexity of the case, everyone’s treatment plan is 100% custom-made, so there isn’t one answer on length of treatment. On average most treatments take between 15 months to 24 months. Custom orthodontic devices such as Spark Clear aligners and LightForce 3D braces may shorten treatment time. Regular appointments and following the orthodontist's instructions can help ensure timely progress.

You may experience some discomfort or soreness when braces are first placed or adjusted. This is usually temporary and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers and orthodontic wax, you should feel better in a few days. It’s possible for discomfort to last up to a week, but if you are experiencing issues, please contact our team.

If you notice that a bracket has come loose, please call our practice and we can schedule an appointment to have it repaired. Don’t worry though, a broken bracket is not an emergency!

If your RME appliance comes loose on one or both sides, you should call our practice to schedule an appointment for reattachment. In the meantime, you can try to push it back into place.

No, Medicare does not typically cover the cost of orthodontic treatment in Australia. You can have orthodontic cover through your private health insurance, your health insurer will be able to advise your level of cover. We do have HICAPS available at the practice for eligible direct claiming with your insurance provider.

After braces are removed, retainers are provided to maintain the new position of your teeth. Retainers are crucial to prevent teeth from shifting back to their original positions. We provide fixed wires and removable retainers, specific instructions on retainer use will be provided on the completion of treatment.
